Die sinking electrical discharge machine

Die sinking electrical discharge machine

EDM is a machining process that mainly uses a discharge electrode (EDM electrode) with a specific geometry to cauterize the electrode geometry on a metal (conductive) part. The method of sizing the material by using the corrosion phenomenon generated by the spark discharge is called electric discharge machining and is often used for the production of blanking dies and casting dies.
The method of sizing a material by using the corrosion phenomenon generated by the spark discharge is called EDM. EDM is a spark discharge in a liquid medium at a lower voltage range.

Die sinking electrical discharge machine is mainly done by the machine factory.
EDM is a kind of self-excitation discharge. Its characteristics are as follows: Spark discharge has a higher voltage between two electrodes before discharge. When the two electrodes are close to each other, after the medium is broken down, spark discharge occurs. As the breakdown progresses, the resistance between the two electrodes abruptly decreases, and the voltage between the two electrodes sharply decreases. The spark passage must be extinguished in a short period of time (usually 10-7-10-3s) in order to maintain the “cold pole” characteristic of the spark discharge (ie, the thermal energy of the channel energy conversion is too late to reach the depth of the electrode). Channel energy acts on a very small area. The effect of channel energy can cause the electrode to be locally corroded.
